In a special tribute to the power of journalism and its role in shaping community and culture, the gala honors Rex Smith, esteemed journalist and former editor of the Times Union, with the Dr. Karen R. Hitchcock Award for Championing the Choral Arts. This prestigious award, named after the transformative former president of the University at Albany, recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the advancement and visibility of the choral arts in the region.
