Calling all highly motivated and talented high school choral students!
Applications are now being accepted to APM’s 19th annual Apprentice Program for High School Singers. This competitive program provides an incomparable opportunity for students to extend their choral experience in a professional setting by rehearsing and performing with Albany Pro Musica. Each student is paired with an APM singer “mentor” who assists him or her through the rehearsal process and the concert event. There is no cost to the apprentice, and music scores are provided. This year’s apprentices will perform John Rutter’s Gloria in the second half of Albany Pro Musica’s final concert of the season, Velvet and Brass, on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall.
This season we are thrilled to be expanding the Apprentice Program by offering participating students the additional opportunity of performing as the first-ever Albany Pro Musica Apprentice Chorus. This exciting new ensemble, conducted by APM Director of Education, Brendan Hoffman, will be an auditioned chamber choir of 16-24 voices, and will rehearse and perform their own set of songs during the May 3 performance!
For more information and the rehearsal schedule for these two programs, please download the overview and invitation letter. To apply, students and their teachers must complete and submit an application by February 14, 2020. Auditions will be held on March 7, 2020.
